New writer and director for The Crow reboot

Simon Brew

Now the legal paths have been cleared, the new take on The Crow is very much full steam ahead...

Published on Jan 25, 2012

It’s only been a day or two since the legal battle that had been holding up Relativity Media’s new take on The Crow ended, and it seems it’s very much full steam ahead for the movie.

Relativity has hired both a writer and a new director for the project already, and while there’s no official timeline yet, the firm is clearly keen to get its project moving again.

Thus, Jesse Wigutow has inked a deal to pen the new script for the film. And F Javier Gutierrez, who helmed Before The Fall, has been revealed as the new director.

No news on casting yet, but given that the project has already lost Bradley Cooper, perhaps Relativity wants to get things closer to production before making too many announcements.

Bradley Cooper would not have been the right actor to play the lead character of The Crow...sure who could play that role but I'm not seeing somebody like Bradley Cooper pulling that off, so it's good they need to find another actor for that role

I agree. Actually, the better Actor for the 'Crow' would have been "Heath Ledger". Next in line---if he has not forgotten how to Act---would be "Johnny Depp" or perhaps just go after a highly skilled unknown. Either way, we'll find out sooner, or later... GBJ
