Vin Diesel returns to xXx
Simon Brew
A third film in the xXx franchise is on the way, and Mr Diesel is suited and booted...

It seems the fallout from Babylon A.D.’s box office disappointment has got to Vin Diesel more than originally thought. The once next-big-thing in action cinema has already opted to return to one of the franchises that made his name, thanks to his involvement in the fourth Fast And The Furious movie. Diesel, of course, opted out of instalments two and three of that franchise, and also ducked out of the sequel to xXx.
However, it now seems that Diesel is keen to return to the world of Xander Cage, with a third xXx movie very much on the cards (in spite of the commercial disappointment of the second). This will see Diesel’s special agent once more under the direction of Rob Cohen (who made the first xXx movie, but like his star, wasn’t around for the sequel). Cohen has just scored himself a summer hit with the third Mummy movie, and while no script is yet in place, he and Diesel have been reportedly agreed to return to the franchise.
And we hope this works for Mr Diesel. He’s running out of sequels to make. What next? The Pacifier 2?
xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will be a good few years away yet. But if you want to pass some of the time, check out our interview with Rob Cohen here.
