New Wolfenstein trailer confirms Doom 4 exists
The latest trailer for Wolfenstein looks great, but it's the reveal at the end that's getting people talking...
Bethesda has released a new trailer for the upcoming Wolfenstein title, The New Order, and it paints the rather nasty picture of the Nazi war machine's rule of Earth, and BJ Blazkowicz rise to overthrow it, complete with chainsaw torture.
A little bit of gameplay is show alongside the CG cut scenes, and it looks like the game will be going balls to the wall for full-on action, replete with dual wielding, giant robots and plenty of Nazi gibs flying around.
However, as good as The New Order may look, the big story here is the slide at he end of the trailer which contains a pre-order invitation to the Doom beta. Yes, you read that right, the Doom beta.
“An insert will be included inside your boxed copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order. This insert will include a key code along with code redemption instructions. Once the key code is redeemed, you’ll be registered to participate in the DOOM beta once it begins. Check back at wolfenstein.com/doom for updated information” says the official FAQ on the website.
No details on the nature of the next Doom, or the beta start date are provided, but more news is promised, and those who pre-order and receive a code will be contacted closer to the beta period to choose their preferred format.
Wolfenstein: The New Order will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on May 20 in the US, and on May 23 in Europe.
