Watch Dogs and The Crew delayed
Ubisoft's Watch Dogs has been pushed back until early next year, and The Crew has also stalled its engines...
Although it's been slated for a November release, and is considered one of the main next gen releases to coincide with the Xbox One and PS4's arrivals, Ubisoft's Wach Dogs has now been delayed, meaning it will miss its original launch window.
Watch Dogs will now be released sometime in Spring 2014 as the development team polish and fine tune the title to deliver the highest possible quality game, according to an official statement released by the publisher.
"Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming.” Said the statement.
“It is with this in mind that we've made the tough decision to delay the release until Spring 2014.
"As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience."
It's not just Watch Dogs that's suffered delays, but Ubi's promising open world racer, The Crew, has also been pushed back. It'll now be released in Q3 2014, instead of the early 2014 window previously planned.
That's two of Ubisoft's big name titles pushed back, and both are important next gen showcase releases, however with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag arriving soon (unless it's delayed at the last minute) we'll still have some impressive action from the publisher. It'll be hard to wait even longer for Watch Dogs, though. Oh well.
