New Thief gameplay trailer
A new trailer has emerged for Eidos Montreal's upcoming Thief, and you can see it here...
Dormant for several years, Thief is one of the most critically acclaimed stealth franchises around, and next year will see its very welcome return to our screens. The new game will be a reboot of sorts, although it's not going to rewrite the previous outings. Instead, this will be a new vision of the series, with a redesigned city and central hero, Garrett, that'll utilise today's available technology, and blend the classic larceny-rich play with new features.
The below trailer demonstrates this, and although the series' staple features like pickpocketing, lock picking and arrow-usage are present and correct, the whole thing has been augmented with much deeper game mechanics and a far richer world, complete with epic set pieces by the look of it in this trailer.
The trailer shows Garrett's incursion into Baron Northcrest's estate, where is target is the valuable treasure, the Heart of the Lion. In order to complete his goal, Garrett has to go through the three stages of the game's core mission gameplay, infiltration, the actual theft, and finally, a successful escape.
Thief will be released on February 25 in the US, and February 28 in Europe for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
