New Splinter Cell: Blacklist trailer
A sizeable new trailer for Splinter Cell: Blacklist has surfaced, and it's a covert listing of the game's many features...
Sam Fisher's rebirth of sorts is shaping up pretty well by all appearances, and you can see a new trailer below for Splinter Cell: Blacklist that details a lot of the games modes and features, revealed by in-game character, the team's 'Tech Ops Specialist', Charlie Cole.
The trailer tours the mobile HQ, the Paladin aircraft, and focuses on Sam's abilities, mission approaches and bag of gadgets, such as new gas grenades, sonar goggles and remote control UAVs.
The trailer also discusses the single-player story that puts Sam up against the Engineers and their blacklist of US attacks, and also looks at the multiplayer options. These include co-op story missions and the spies versus mercs competitive modes.
These will feature two, three or four on four teams going at it. As always, mercs will focus on more traditional FPS play using heavy weapons and brute force to protect their location, whilst the spies will be third-person, and with few weapons, will relay on stealth and gadgets to win out.
Multiplayer will feature a levelling and unlocking system, opening up new gear and so on, and all-in-all, it could be a great return for the stealth series. I'll still miss Michael Ironside's dulcet tones, though.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC on August 20.
