Shovel Knight launch trailer
Love letter to all things retro and platformy, Shovel Knight has a launch trailer, and here it is...
Some would argue that the golden age of gaming, especially that of 2D platforming, resides with the NES, and the 8-bit era of consoles. With titles like Mario, Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania and Metroid all making a name for themselves during this period of gaming, there's really no arguing with this belief, and it's this age of gaming that Shovel Knight, the new Kickstarted indie, embraces.
A fully paid up old school platformer at its core, Shovel Knight is a veritable walk down memory lane, and it takes inspiration from the past masters of the genre to craft a brand new release that simply can't fail to take you back to the halcyon days of the NES, and those tortuously challenging platformers of yore.
Now that the game is almost with us, here's the launch trailer, which pulls no punches in showing off the game's retro action. It'll be released on June 26 for Wii U, 3DS and PC (including Steam).
