Saints Row IV: Gat Out Of Hell and Re-Elected announced
Deep Silver has revealed some new Saints Row action at this year's PAX Prime...
Although the Saints Row teasers we've seen over the last couple of days were believed to hint at the next full-fledged Saints Row, number five in the series, it looks like we're going to have to wait a bit longer for the next major release.
At Pax Prime, Deep Silver unveiled the new release, and instead of a totally new game, it's a standalone expansion for Saints Row IV, and a current gen re-release of the fourth game.
Saints Row IV: Gat out of Hell will star the titular, kill-crazy Saint as he jumps head first into Hell itself in order to save the leader of the Saints from Satan. Players can opt to play as either Johnny Gat or Kinzie Kensington, and they're sent to a hellish urban sprawl, full of demons and destruction. The expansion will feature similar gameplay to the main game, with the indomitable, over the top craziness of the series showing in all manner of ludicrous weapons (easy chair with miniguns, anyone?), and Gat will sport angel wings as he rains down his own breed of carnage onto the forces of damnation. You can see the trailer for Saints Row IV: Gat out of Hell below.
The other announced release is Saints Row IV: Re-Elected. This is basically the original Saints Row IV, but ported to current gen consoles, with the expected tweaks and refinements we'd expect to see from a current gen port.
Saints Row IV: Gat out of Hell will be released on last and current gen consoles, as well as PC on January 27 in the US, and on January 30 elsewhere.
Saint Row IV: Re-Elected will arrive for Xbox One and PS4 on the same dates – January 27 in the US, and January 30 in other regions.
