Project Spark developer demo
Microsoft has released an hour-long video showing off its game creation tool, Project Spark...
One of the most impressive titles coming up for the soon-to-be-released Xbox One is undoubtedly Project Spark. The powerful game creation tool is yet to enter the open beta phase, but it's already looking very tasty, and this latest look at the title demonstrates a huge amount of Spark's abilities.
Here we see the use of Kinect in the creation of animation and graphics, and the demo then moves on to a sample world, complete with Zelda-themed dungeons and boss fights. The suite of creation tools, including the visual programming language is shown in detail, and it's clear that creating games with the sandbox creation tool will be easy on the surface, but packed with advanced techniques, including adding in your very own Easter eggs and cheat codes.
What's even more interesting is the fact that Project Spark will be free-to-play, and also cross platform on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Users will be able to share their creations with other players (including those on other platforms).
Project Spark's beta will begin in January for Xbox, and next month on Windows 8. For now, have a look at the hour long demo below.
