Sony has dropped a new hardware trailer, which focuses on the hardware highlights of the upcoming PS4...

A new trailer for the PS4 has been revealed, and it's a simple, back-to-basics teaser that highlights some of th console's major hardware bullet points, all while swooping and zooming around the attractive black rhombus-shaped unit.

The specifications featured in the trailer include the main processor, which is a shared GPU-CPU AMD x86 custom chip, with a a next-generation Radeon GPU running at 1.84 TFLOPS. There's 8GB of GDDR5 memory, a 6xCAV Blu-ray drive, 500GB HDD and AV outputs include Digital Out and HDMI. Connectivity-wise, the PS4 supports USB, AUX, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1.

It's an impressive line-up of tech, all crammed into a console-sized package that promises CPU speeds 10x that of the PS3. We've heard all sorts of arguments about its power comparison with the Xbox One, but we'll only know the real differences when both units are in the wild, which isn't long now.

It's a shame this thing can't do some of the things the PS3 could do at launch... (stream media from your network, play mp3s and audio CDs.)

Theres nothing in the launch lineup to tempt me, plus the lack of media server ability is a huge dropped cojone as far as I'm concerned. I'll probably wait a year, maybe two.

Much prefered the PS3 to the 360, However i think im going to treat myself to an Xbox One, Theres more launch titles for me, And not being able to stream media on a PS4 is a big downer for me

ps4 will have media stream and mp3/audio cd play back via ps4 upate
