Nosgoth reveal video
The Legacy of Kain series is being revived in the form of an online competitive title...
If you're a fan of the long dormant Legacy of Kain series you may be happy to know that the game universe is due to return, even if the series' central characters aren't.
Nosgoth, named after the world the Legacy of Kain series was set in, is being worked on by Psyonix and Square Enix, and the official reveal video has been released. You can see this below.
Based on the war between vampires and humans, Nosgoth will be a team-based competitive affair, pitting humans against vampires and focusing on the strengths and weaknesses of each.
Humans will be more frail than their vampire foes, but will have powerful weaponry and traps with which they can dispatch their blood-drinking enemies. Vampires, however, will posses all sorts of supernatural abilities, which will change depending on the vampire clan they belong to. Some are big, brutish melee warriors that can leap over buildings, whilst others have wings and can fly around the area. Characters can also be customised.
The reveal video shows plenty of gameplay footage and the team behind it deliver their thoughts on the title, but there's no sign of any of the series' existing characters, such as the titular uber vamp, Kain, or his nemesis, the soul-devouring spectre, Raziel (although the clan with wings is called Razielim).
Nosgoth is soon to enter a closed beta state soon, and will arrive in full via Steam for PC.
