Murdered: Soul Suspect gameplay demo
Here's a 15 minute gameplay demo fro Murdered: Soul suspect, revealing how the game will actually play...
One of the most interesting reveals of this year's E3 was the intriguing Murdered: Soul Suspect. The supernatural detective thriller from Square Enix is a new IP that casts you as a murdered detective who attempts to solve his own murder from beyond the grave.
Blending the living and dead worlds, the game will mix in L.A. Noire-style investigation with stealth action and combat using a core ghost dynamic. Murdered protagonist, Ronan O'Connor, gains a host of spectral abilities, such as possession and teleport, not to mention the ability to pass through solid objects, but his interaction with the physical world is limited, making for some interesting gameplay, as seen in the below demonstration.
Ronan will be able to possess other living people but will have no actual control. Instead he can use them to uncover information, plant ideas into their minds and use them as makeshift hiding spots from evil demons. He can also interact with other ghosts in order to get more informations, as well as solving other, optional mysteries alongside his mission to track down his own killer.
It's certainly an interesting premise, and the mixture of investigation, puzzling and stealth could make for a very promising release when it arrives early next year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
