Minecraft Realms to introduce mini games
The paid-for multiplayer service for Minecraft is adding mini games to complement the world-building survival...
Mojang has released a new video, narrated by lead developer, Jens Bergensten, that shows off a new feature to be included in the Minecraft Realms service, which is currently only available in Sweden, but should be released everywhere else soon
This new feature adds a mini game option to the world configuration. Once selected, and one of the various games chosen, the mini game temporarily replaces your normal world with a custom, mini game map.
Shown in the video below is a Plants Vs Zombies-themed challenge called Blocks Vs Zombies, and other games listed include Cake Defence 2, The Walls, and Dash of Doom.
These diversions can be played solo or multiplayer, and will endow the title with some more variety and multiplayer challenge. Whether the update will make it into vanilla Minecraft is yet to be seen.
The new modes will be made available in the 1.7.5 Realms update due in March.
