Nintendo Direct delivers Mario Kart 8 release date

The latest Nintendo Direct was packed with information as usual, including some key releases...

Nintendo may be sailing some very choppy waters at the moment, but that isn't stopping the gaming company from working on some promising titles for its home and mobile platforms. In the latest Nintendo Direct Nintendo CEO, Satoru Iwata, shared a good deal of information on upcoming titles, including the anticipated Mario Kart 8's release date.

The daddy of all kart racers is due to arrive on May 30, and as well as the new gravity defying tracks it'll also include some new racers is the form of Bower's Koopalings.

You can see the full Nintendo Direct presentation below, with some of the highlights being the inclusion of Punch Out's Little Mac in the latest Smash Bros., the announcement that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is coming to 3DS in the US later this year, and some battle footage of the new Monolithsoft title, which is looking very impressive.
