A supposed leak online has revealed that a Halo 2 remake and the third Crackdown could be on the way...

Stepping deep into pinch of salt territory here, but it would appear as though a supposed verified source on NeoGAF has leaked some information regarding two very big titles for Microsoft's Xbox One.

The apparent Microsoft insider claims that work is under way on an Xbox One remake of Halo 2, and will be called Halo 2 Anniversary. It's not known if it'll follow the same template laid by the Xbox 360's Halo Anniversary, simply sporting better visuals, or if it'll add new content. The game is planned for release this year, on November 11. It's worth pointing out that the original Xbox release of Halo 2 came out in 2004, so this year does, indeed, mark its 10th anniversary.

The same source confirms that Crackdown 3 is in development, but will not arrive until 2016. It was also sated that Microsoft is working with Cloudgine on a secret project called Nimbus. This is a company that specialises in using cloud tech to power game mechanics and rendering.

Now, although this all sounds great, and the chance to revisit Halo 2 in HD form, not to mention the final arrival of Crackdown 3 will no doubt please Xbox fans, it's also very possibly fake. NeoGAF mods have apparently verified things, and confirmed that this leak could be the real thing, however, so we'll have to see just how much, if any of this information eventually works its way out of Microsoft in the next few months.
