Grand Theft Auto V has smashed sales records in the UK and around the world...

Okay, so it's hardly all that surprising give the hype, but GTA V has decimated sales records, and has taken the title for most money made in 24 hours. The game managed to sell $800 million in 24 hours. To put that into a little context, previous record holder, Call of Duty: Black Ops II sold $500 million in it's first 24 hours.

Also, lets not forget GTA V is the most expensive game ever made, costing around $265 million to produce, and that cost has been recouped with almost no effort at all, in single day. Pretty impressive stuff.

The game has also become the fastest selling game in UK history with 1.57 million units sold on the first day. Again, this beats Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which sold 1.41 million units.

GTA V has become and instant critical and commercial success, and has been pretty much unanimously showered with high scores, and with Christmas around the corner, those sales will grow and grow. The question now is, will we see a next gen version?
