Get Even announced
A new, visually impressive shooter has been announced by Farm 51, and it promises originality...
Some are already saying that Get Even, the new shooter from Painkiller dev, Farm 51, looks truly next gen, and this is thanks to the new real-world scanning system that makes the visuals look almost lifelike, as you can see from the trailer below.
The trailer isn't all in-engine visuals, however, and it mixes graphics with real life to demonstrate just how good the new visual tech is. It's pretty impressive, you have to admit.
The game itself promises to offer some original twists too, taking it beyond yet another military shooter. Farm 51 is adding in a devious multiplayer element to the title, so players going through the single player won't necessarily be alone.
“When players embark on a single-player mission, others on the network can join the quest as enemies, so players never know whether their opponents are human or CPU-based," says Farm 51's official announcement.
Whilst this has been done in some ways before, such as Resident Evil 6's Agent Hunt mode, this time it's a central mechanic, and players will slotted into others game covertly. This means you'll always be wondering if that last death was due to a decent AI shot, or the skill of another, real person.
Have a look at the trailer below and see the impressive visuals for yourself, but don't get too excited yet, Get Even won't be out until into 2015.
