Gamescom trailer round up
There have been plenty of trailers released during Gamescom, and here are a gaggle of them for your viewing pleasure...
Gamescom is all about the games, and one of the best ways to see those games if you're not lucky enough to attend is via the trailers. So, without further ado, here are some of the trailers that have done the rounds at the show. Enjoy.
Tom Clancy's The Division is shaping up to be on of the most interesting takes on the online co-op experience, and this has been bolstered by the reveal of companion features. This allows users on tablets to directly interact and take part in online battles, anywhere. Air strikes can be called in and support provided via remote control UAVs. It's an intriguing addition to the game, and we look forward to seeing more.
The Sims 4
EA has revealed The Sims 4 and here are both the launch trailer and gameplay demo. The next game in the series will feature improved creation tools for both your Sims and houses, and emotions will play a big role, altering how your Sims interact and evolve as you play the game.
Dead Rising 3
Dead Rising 3 is an Xbox One exclusive, and this Gamescom trailer shows much more of the open-world zombie rampaging you can get up to. Now free of the constraints of a shopping mall, the series is set to be bigger than ever, with the range of wacky, custom weapons being joined by more vehicles and intelligent zombies.
The announcement of a free copy of FIFA 14 with every Xbox One in Europe is sure to make gamers in the included regions happy, and will no doubt give Microsoft's new black box a boost. This is complemented by the new Ultimate Team Legends mode, which allows the blending of past masters and today's stars. This is exclusive to Xbox One, and you can see the trailer here.
The next outing to Albion will no longer be a solo-focused affair, as in demonstrated in the below trailer for Fable Legends. Still promoting the choice of being good or evil, the game will allow up to four players to set out on adventures, slay creatures and level their digital avatars.
The game will also support Smartglass, and allow villains to send in waves of foes, and it can also be used to track game progress.
EA's Battlefield 4 continues to impress, and the Frostbite-powered FPS looks simply stunning. The trailer seen here focuses on multiplayer action, the game's core feature, and it's going to be a relentless blast of on-foot and vehicular action with some mammoth, environment-altering set pieces. We feel this is a game where next gen really will make all the difference.
Batman: Arkham Origins
Arkham Origins already has quite the roster of villains for Batman to contend with, and this latest trailer confirms that another volatile criminal mind is set to do battle with the Bat, and as suspected by many, it's the pyromaniac, Firefly.
He's shown here in the latest trailer, along with a rather adrenaline-pumping mix of story, combat and character shouts. It's all looking very tasty, and we'll even get to see Batman and Jim Gordon's first meeting. Nice.
New Kinect arm-wobbler, Fighter Within, is coming from Ubisoft, and it was officially revealed at Gamescom. Here's the latest trailer (via CVG) of the Xbox One exclusive scrapper that lets you control onscreen combatants with full-body movements.
Sceptics are already side-lining the game as a gimmick, but with Kinect 2.0 behind it, the game may be able to deliver. Time will tell.
