Ubisoft has officially revealed the existence of Far Cry 4, along with the game's release date...

Everyone and their pet goldfish saw this coming, given the success of the previous games, but now Ubisoft has officially revealed the fourth instalment in the Far Cry series. Far Cry 4 has been revealed to be a thing, and it's set to arrive on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation4, and PC this November 21 in Europe, and November 18 is the US.

Set in the Himalayas, in a region called Kyrat, the game will pit players against a nasty dictator, apparently with a penchant for purple suits if the game artwork is anything to go by. Ubisoft has promised a "breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas.” It'll be another open-world title, similar to the third game, but the new setting will no doubt provide additional threats and features, including snowy areas, new wildlife to slaughter in the name of carrying more ammo, and new vehicles.

Along with the announcement comes the ever present pre-order DLC, which will include Hurk from Far Cry 3, along with three missions and Hurk's 'The Impaler' harpoon gun.

Little else has been revealed about the game, but an actual gameplay demonstration will be at this year's E3.
