Evolve is the new shooter from Left 4 Dead creator

A new IP is on the way from Left 4 Dead creator, Turtle Rock, and it's called Evolve...

Originally planned as a THQ title, but put on hold following THQ demise, Evolve is the new shooter from the team behind Valve's zombie-slaying hit, Left 4 Dead.

Revealed in the February issue of Game Informer, the new shooter is going to ditch the shambling undead in favour of aliens and a distinctly sci-fi feel. Well, it worked for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The game sounds like it'll be in a similar vein to the Left 4 Dead series, with players teaming up to fight off alien attacks. There'll be a 'Hunt' mode which sees a fifth player take on the role of a powerful alien monster that grows in size and strength as the rounds tick by.

2K games acquired the rights to Evolve, following the auction held in January 2013 for a cool $10.8 million, and the game is set to land sometime this autumn on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
