New Deus Ex title trademarked by Square Enix
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided appears to be the new Deus Ex title, that's if a recent trademark is anything to go by...
Spotted over at NeoGAF, it would appear as though the next entry in the Deus Ex series has a title. According to a trademark filing on the OHIM database (Office on Harmonization in the Internal Market), Eidos is working on a title called Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
The trademark, which was filed on March 27, contains little information, but covers computer game software, printed matter, and entertainment services. The owner is listed as Square Enix.
Square Enix previously announced the 'Deus Ex Universe', of which Deus Ex: The Fall was the last entry, and so it's widely believed, and very likely, that Mankind Divided will be a new, major console outing targeting the Xbox One and PS4, as well as PC.
Even without information on the game as such, the title is very telling, and clearly points to a further rift between augmented and non-augmented humans, a major underlying theme of Human Revolution. As long as it's a whole lot better than the shockingly poor PC port of Deus Ex: The Fall, we'll be happy.
