New Deep Down gameplay footage
Capcom's free-to-play RPG has resurfaced with some new gameplay footage...
You'd be forgiven for thinking that Deep Down, the free-to-play RPG revealed as a PS4 exclusive at the console's launch, was cancelled. We'd not seen a great deal about it for a long time, until a few bits and pieces started to emerge recently, with the latest being this developer gameplay video.
The video is Japanese, so unless you're fluent in the language, the gameplay footage is going to have to do, but even from this, it's clear the game is shaping up very nicely, with up to four player co-op adventuring, and some really nasty foes to take on, including a boss that looks like a raw chicken possessed by a demon. Nice.
Towards the end of the video, there's also a selection of rather impressive-looking apartments, presumably set in the future New York setting of 2094, which is the period Deep Down takes place. We're expecting some PS Home-style customisation here, with the option to invite friends over in between dungeon crawls, but this is just a guess. We'll have to wait and see how these will be used.
Deep Down is scheduled for release in Japan sometime in 2015, but there's no confirmation of a western release at the moment. Given the title's close resemblance to Dark Souls, and the popularity of the FromSoftware title, along with the PS4's domination, we'd be surprised if Deep Down doesn't get a release elsewhere.
