Microsoft unveils its Autumn Xbox 360 line-up

Xbox 360 gamers could be in for a treat this Autumn, with some major-league sequels on the way...

As the battle of the consoles continues to hot up, Microsoft has now confirmed the titles that it expects to be giving it a lift about Sony and Nintendo this Christmas. Sadly for us at Geek, there’s no sign yet of Crackdown 2, but there are still some interesting games in there. Such as…

GEARS OF WAR 2
Aka: The reason we won’t be seeing Martin much around the Autumn. If it’s as action-packed as the first, then count us in, even if it does have another bastard-high level at the end.

VIVA PINATA 2
This wasn’t too bad for a while first time round we thought, and Microsoft has already managed to squeeze an add-on pack out of it. Whether we want to go back to crossbreeding the little buggers is a bit up in the air, though.

BANJO-KAZOOIE: NUTS AND BOLTS
Now this is much more like it. The long-awaited third Banjo-Kazooie game, and one that will hopefully mark the full-on return to form of developer Rare. Touch wood, eh, but November can’t come quickly enough.

FABLE 2
The first one was interesting but flawed, yet bursting with ambition. Legendary developer Peter Molyneux continues to push the boundaries of emotional gaming, and even though his games tend to have the odd problem, they try things that others just aren’t doing. Hence, Fable 2 is very good news.

TOO HUMAN
Set for August release, a period of time where Bioshock managed to clean up convincingly last year. Silicon Knights are putting the finishing touches to the game over the next few months, which promises to mix RPG elements with action. It’s an Xbox 360 exclusive, too…
