Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is real
Recent leaks were correct, and another Borderlands game is on the way in the form of a pre-sequel...
Recently, we reported that leaked information online had supposedly revealed the existence of a new Borderlands game, and now that leak has been confirmed, along with a developer video revealing some of the new gameplay.
2K games have officially revealed Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, a prequel to Borderlands 2. As was stated in the leaked information, the game will take place between the events of Borderlands and Borderlands 2, and focuses on the rise of the second game's tyrannical antagonist, Handsome Jack.
Set on Pandora's Moon, the game will feature four new protagonists, serving the earlier incarnation of Jack, including a playable version of series mascot and favourite, Claptrap. As it's set on the moon, the game will make use of low gravity acrobatics, including a ground pound move, and oxygen will be integral to the game, affecting the gameplay more than simply allowing players to breathe in the zero-atmosphere environment.
You can see more about the game in the developer reveal below, and it will be released later this year as a standalone title for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
