PS4 Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag footage
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag on PS4 will be something special, and this developer video gives us a first glimpse...
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will be headed to all major formats, and if it's anything like AC3, we can expect a great game regardless of your chosen platform. However, the game will bridge the generation gap between current and next gen consoles, and the below video looks at the benefits Ubisoft has with the PlayStation 4's increased power.
In the interview from the PlayStation Blog, Associate Producer, Sylvain Trottier, and Creative Director, Jean Guesdon talk about the differences the extra muscle of Sony's new platform make, and what these differences will mean for the player. We also get to see the game running on PS4, and it looks very nice, indeed.
A particularly interesting new feature is the seamless transmission between land and sea, meaning you can run up to your ship, hop on-board, sail away, and attack and board another ship, all without a single loading screen, with you being in full control at all times.
The duo mention the ability for friends to be present in your single player adventure, as well as the obvious extra details afforded by the PS4's power. They also confirm that, unlike the PS3, which was notoriously difficult to develop for, the PS4 solves that problem, and is a much easier platform to work with.
