Those who pre-order Sega's upcoming Alien Isolation will get DLC starring the original movie cast...

Sega has unveiled the inevitable pre-order DLC deal for Alien: Isolation, and it takes players back to the original 1979 movie, Alien, giving us a chance to play out two scenes from the film.

Pre-orders in the UK (and presumably other regions) will all receive an upgrade to the Nostromo Edition, which will include the DLC, Crew Expendable. This DLC lets players pick one of the original crew, including Dallas, Parker, and, of course, Ellen Ripley. Events take place after the death of Brett, and players must work with fellow survivors, Lambert and Ash, exploring the Nostromo in order to lure the deadly xenomorph into the ship's airlock.

That's not all, though. Those who buy the game from select retailers will also get access to the Last Survivor DLC. This sees Ellen Ripley alone on the Nostromo, as in the film's climax, and challenges players to activate the Nostromo's self destruct, and then escape the ship via the Narcissus shuttle.

“Working with the original cast has been an incredible experience,” Alistair Hope, Creative Lead on Alien: Isolation said in the official announcement. “It was important to us to have the key original cast members reprise their roles in order to perfectly capture the atmosphere of the movie. For some of the original cast, this is their first appearance in an Alien video game. Seeing them reprise those roles after 35 years was an unforgettable experience.”

As pre-order DLC goes, this is one that we don't actually mind, and the chance to revisit the Nostromo in the style of the first film will be well worth admission, especially with the original cast on board. That is, as long as the game is good, of course, which we'll know soon enough.

Alien Isolation will be released on October 7 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, as well as Xbox 360, PlayStation 3.
