It's fair to say that everybody, at some point, has had a crush on or at least fancied a videogame character. No? Just me? Ah well. Let's run down the top 10 digitised characters to set pulses racing anyway!

10. Sorceress Edea (Final Fantasy 8)
She may not be a lady, but she's all woman! Kicking off the list, it's the saucy sorceress with killer dress sense and a penchant for evil.

9. Jin Kazama (Tekken)
You can't argue with that hair, really.

8. Maria (Silent Hill 2)
Maria has the advantage of being both a complete odd ball (and that's always attractive, right?) and also resembling a demented Cameron Diaz.

7. Raiden (Metal Gear Solid 2)
To some he's the disappointing character you had to control instead of Solid Snake for the majority of MGS2. For others, he's the rookie soldier who got captured, stripped and tortured, and remained a pin-up ever after.

6. Meryl Silverburgh (MGS)
A flame-haired tomboy with an inclination for wearing men's clothes and giving you the finger (not in that way).

5. Squall (FF8)
When it comes to sex appeal, you can't beat a moody teenager with a cool Harry Potter-esque scar on his forehead.

4. Lulu (Final Fantasy X)
There's no messing around with Lulu, it's always straight down to business, just the way we like it.

3. Leon Kennedy (Resident Evil 2)
Was anybody else hoping for a tryst between Leon and Claire Redfield in the police station? No? Okay then.

2. Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
She needs no introduction. Lara Croft has been a pixelated fantasy ever since she first exploded onto the scene in 1995, with the perfect hour-glass figure and a devil may care attitude to give Indiana Jones a run for his money.

1. Gray (The Spirits Within)
Ben Affleck in digital form - but this fictitious hunk was nowhere to be seen in Daredevil, thus his reputation remains in tact. It's just a shame he's not real.
