Ready to head into the nine circles of hell? That's the tempting proposition if you pick up Dante's Inferno next month, one of EA's big hopes for early 2010. And, to be fair, it's shaping up to be a must-buy mix of action and adventure.
The game is based on the first part of Dante Alighieri's poem Divine Comedy, written back in the 14th century, and the game uses that as a basis and merges into a story that's then been written by Will Rokos (who penned the terrific movie Monster's Ball).
It's being developed by Visceral Games, the studio we have to thank for the brilliant Dead Space (and the sequel to that is coming later this year), and the game itself will be a mix of hacking and slashing, magical powers, fascinating visuals and one heck of a quest. The beast taming feature in particular sounds great, where Dante is able to control certain beasts that he comes up against. And given what he's going to be facing, every little is most certainly going to help.
Here's a clip to whet your appetite for the game, which goes on sale in February.
