Nintendo confirms European DSi XL release date

The Nintendo DS just got bigger, as Nintendo announces the release date for the DSi XL console…

The latest iteration of Nintendo's handheld DS console is arriving in Europe on 5th March, it's been confirmed. And this time, in a refreshing antidote to the thrust for making technology as small as humanly possibly, the size of the console is on the up.
The selling point of the DSi XL over other versions of Nintendo's machine is that it's, simply, bigger. As such the two screens are 93% bigger than those on the DS Lite, with a wider viewing angle screen too (although that's never given us much trouble with the DS, given that you tend to stare straight at the machine). A larger stylus is included too.
The machine will launch with a choice of two colours - wine red or dark brown (a brand new console the colour of human shit! Perfect!) - and there's a matt finish on the bottom which means that the machine won't slip if you rest it on a table surface.
It'll also come loaded with a pair of titles from the DSiWare download store: Dr Kawashima's: Little Bit Of Brain Training: Arts Edition and Dictionary 6 In 1 With Camera Function. Pricing details have not been confirmed, so for now we'll assume that it'll be around the £150 level of the current Nintendo DSi.
