An epic RPG needs an epic trailer, and the upcoming Square Enix juggernaut, Final Fantasy XIII has that requirement covered. Weighing in at a mighty 7+ minutes, the latest trailer for the next gen incarnation of the long running series is enough to whet the appetite of even the most cynical JRPG critic fed up of yet another turn-based outing.

With impressive CGI, some screen melting pyrotechnics and a slew of battle refinements, Final Fantasy XIII is looking very tasty indeed, even if the traditional overly dramatic dialog is returning once more (why do JRPG characters grunt and moan at everything?).

Due for release in Spring 2010, this should be a barnstormer.
