EA confirms new Star Wars and Mass Effect titles
New games from Criterion and Bioware from EA too, along with The Sims 4 and a new Star Wars: Battlefront sequel.
Over at the E3 videogaming expo that's currently taking place in the US, Electronic Arts has announced a bevy of new titles, some of which we saw coming, some not.
The new ones? Well, we're thrilled to hear that Criterion, the team behind the Burnout games (and the best of the recent Need For Speed instalments) is hard at work on a new first person extreme sports game. This'll cover lots of vehicles, not just cars.
Then there's Mass Effect 4, which perhaps isn't a massive surprise given that there's a movie on the way soon, but is still very welcome. Mirror's Edge 2 meanwhile has been officially confirmed and shown off too.
Also, BioWare is working on a new franchise, of which limited details were given. But glimpses were shown of Dragon Age Inquisition, which is well into development.
On the Star Wars front, we can expect a sequel to Star Wars: Battlefront, and the already announced Battlefield Hardline was confirmed. The Sims 4 will be with us before the end of the year, too. There are the usual sports games coming back as well.
A lot of what EA was showing was quite early in development, so don't expect too many of these this year. But still, it had us at a new Criterion game...
