Batman: Arkham Asylum is - finally! - nearly upon us, and here's the latest trailer to prove it...

From the early reviews that are tumbling in, it seems that the wait for another good Batman game - that's been going on for nearly two decades, by our reckoning - will be over by the end of the week. Eidos' Batman: Arkham Asylum has looked something really quite special from the first footage that was released, and while that's no indicator, clearly, of longer term success, it seems that the game has, for once, lived up to the hype and promise.

Our own review will follow in due course, but for now, Eidos has released a special trailer for the game to coincide with its launch.

The game will be hitting store shelves on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC from Friday...

I enjoyed the demo of this when it appeared on the PSNetwork (or whatever it is called). I'll not be getting the special edition with the Batarang, though!
