Nintendo's icon character, the man Mario himself, has already appeared a couple of times on the Wii, with the sublime Super Mario Galaxy being the highlight. The crappy latest Mario Party game is the low point, just for reference. It's thus joy for those who grow frustrated with the carnival of minigame collections that the Wii magnetically attracts to hear that Nintendo has finally announced a sequel to the game. This is, no two ways about it, very good news.

No firm details of how the game will pan out have been released as of yet, and we're none the wiser about a release date. What we do have, though, are the first ten screenshots from the game, each of which you can magically make bigger by clicking on them.

It's just amazing when that happens...
