Team Ico unveil new video

Have a look at the preview trailer for the atmospheric work-in-progress follow-up to Ico and Shadow Of the Colossus. Will Trico bring the boxers to the station?

Four years on from its announcement, Team Ico have finally revealed the successor to 2006's Shadow Of The Colossus with a stunning preview video.

Called Trico (probably a working title), the game appears to blend the gameplay of Ico and SoC; the impossibly vast architecture of Ico makes a welcome return, and the youthful protagonist is this time joined by a giant, friendly griffin/cat type thing.

The footage is filled with the artistry and atmosphere that permeates all Team Ico games, though the gloomy, dank atmosphere of Shadow Of The Colossus has been replaced with a more gentle tone reminiscent of a Hayao Miyazaki movie. While a disclaimer states "This video may not represent the final product," it's already looking every bit as good as Team Ico's past work.

Already one of the most anticipated games for the PS3, this could be just the exclusive the console needs - the only question now is, when will it be released?
