Saints Row IV announced
The Saints are back in Saints Row IV, and this time it's Intergalactic...
If you thought that Saints Row was one of the most ridiculous GTA-clones around, then you'd be right, and it only gets stranger. Koch Media, the new owner of the license, has revealed that the next instalment of Saints Row series. Saints Row IV is due to arrive on current-gen consoles in August, and it's being billed as a conclusion to the street gang's ongoing saga, and boy is it some conclusion.
In typically silly fashion, you are once again the leader of the Saints, who, despite being involved in all things criminal, has become the President of the United States. Well, they say anyone can become President, right?
The trouble is, although being the most powerful man in the world should make the Saints all-but untouchable, there's one snag, aliens have invaded. Yep, extra-terrestrial invaders are now waging war with the Saints, and it's up to the good ol' Pres to save the world.
This bizarre twist on what stated out life as a straight GTA-clone will include all of the usual lewd and crude gameplay, along with new additions, such as superpowers, alien weapons and a virtual version of the city of Steelport.
The fourth game in the series was initially planned as an expansion called Enter the Dominatrix (presumably where you take the morning after pill to go down the rabbit hole), but this blossomed into a full sequel, which we have here.
Volition is still the developer of the game, and it's due to release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on August 30 in the US and August 31 in Europe, and you'll find the trailer (via Machinima) below.
