Cyberpunk 2077 will include multiplayer
CD Projekt Red has confirmed the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 will feature multiplayer...
CD Projekt Red's new title, Cyberpunk 2077, is already a very interesting title, and promises plenty of sci-fi RPG thrills and a deep story-driven experience. Well, that's according to the developer, but with the impressive Witcher games already under its belt, it can afford to boast a little.
The game won't only be a solo jaunt, however, and it's been announced (via Eurogamer), that the title will also feature an online multuplayer component.
Talking to Eurogamer, Managing Director Adam Badowski said, "It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we're going to add multiplayer features."
Badowski also went over some details about the game, confirming that it'll be an open-world title, similar to The Witcher, and that it won't feature a pre-defined hero, leaving the player to create their own protagonist. Character classes will be included, and these, along with the customisation will make for perfect MMORPG material.
Also in the chat, Badowski hinted that The Witcher 3 may also have some form of multiplayer, a first for the series, commenting, “We're thinking about something" when asked about possible multiplayer in Geralt's upcoming adventure.
Cyberpunk 2077 is still in very early stages, and isn't slated to release until 2015, so we've got a long wait to see what Projekt Red can pull out of it's sci-fi hat.
