The DC universe is ready to rumble in Injustice: Gods Among Us, and here’s the new cinematic trailer…

Although it was a passable outing, Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe didn’t exactly hit the gaming and/or comic book fan world with a bang. Mixing together clean cut superheroes like Superman with the brutal and gory fighters of Mortal Kombat may have sounded good on paper, but in reality it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

So, Neatherrealm and WB Games are giving DC’s finest another shot at the one-on-one fighter arena with Injustice: Gods Among Us, this time without Outworld’s denizens sticking their oar in.

The game is set to star a number of DC heroes and villains, with obvious staples like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Joker, Lex Luthor and Green Lantern, along with entries such as Bane, Harley Quinn, Cyborg and Deathstroke.

It’ll have an intriguing story mode, and the game will not use the normal best of three rounds approach, and will instead have single round fights, which are, according to the developer, is going to be more cinematic.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U on April 16 in the US and April 19 in Europe.
