DmC: Devil May Cry launch trailer
The reworking of Capcom’s Devil May Cry series has arrived, and here’s the game’s launch trailer…
Devil May Cry marked a very different style of game from Capcom when it first arrived. Originally a Resident Evil title, but then re-branded into a new IP, it took elements of the zombie-themed survival horror series and added in a megaton of stylish melee combat and all sorts of demons, angels and otherworldly creatures.
The end result was a real breath of fresh air, and the series, although it had its ups and downs (Devil May Cry 2, we’re looking at you), it’s been a fan favourite ever since, even with some of the most punishing difficulty levels around.
Now, five years since the last entry, Devil May Cry 4, Capcom has decided to reboot the series with a more modern edge to it. Gone is the white-haired Dante, to be replaced by a younger, darker, and more westernised protagonist.
Following a similar, but reworked story to the original series, Dante is half demon and half angel, and one of the only people who can stand against an army of demons threatening the world. Once again the demon Mundus is after Dante’s blood, but this time, there’s also the sentient city of Limbo, which seems to also have a beef with the guns and sword-wielding hero.
So, have a gander at the trailer below, and if you like what you see, go grab a copy, as the game is out now for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a PC port coming on January 25.
