Doctor Who: red Daleks spotted?

Simon Brew

Eyewitness reports from Cardiff suggest all that crap about three surviving Daleks is about to be put right. Doctor Who series four is looking really quite interesting again...!

According to numerous reports now, as Doctor Who goes about the filming of its fourth season in and around the Cardiff area, the Daleks are back in force. But with an added twist.

As you may remember, they've been peddling this Cult of Skaro line, which now supposedly leaves three remaining Daleks in the Universe after the piss-poor Manhattan-Dalek-Pig People story in the third season of Doctor Who.

But with Ben Kinglsey seemingly lined up to play Davros, and Russell T Davies ready to flee the show once his four season story arc is complete, it seems that the Daleks are back properly again. We're guessing that it all ties into the Time War that they've been rabbiting on about for three years, and the numerous sightings of red Daleks around Doctor Who's filming locations hints at a return to the Dalek faction wars between Davros' 'official' Daleks, and the Emperor's 'renegade' group.

Don't expect confirmation of this story from the Beeb anytime soon, of course, but it's looking increasingly likely that - even with Catherine Tate - season four is bubbling up with some interesting material. Here's hoping...
