Is Dead Like Me making a comeback?

Sarah Dobbs

More cult telly coming back from the dead? (Sorry, but since it's Dead Like Me we're talking about, we couldn't resist using way too many death-related clichés.)

Published on Jun 28, 2007

A little Internet birdie told us - though in a rather nonsensical way - that Dead Like Me is about to come crawling back out of its telly grave.

But don't celebrate too soon. Apparently, rather than making another series, Showtime bosses are planning a straight-to-DVD movie - and Mandy Patinkin isn't on board. Ellen Muth, Callum Blue, Jasmine Guy and Cyntia Stevenson are reportedly signed up, but there's no mention of Laura Harris.

Filming should start next week. Despite having lamented the too-early demise of this show on this very site, I'm ambivalent about this. If it's good, then that'll be awesome; if it's not, then it's just rubbing salt into the wound, isn't it?

The article I read just didn't mention Laura Harris at all, so I'm trying in vain to hope she's not gone .... fingers crossed!

Taking Laura Harris out removes about 90% of the show's appeal for me!

Why Ellen Muth isn't a huge success yet is beyond me. She's amazing.

Heh. That's strange. My question, when I watched some "Dead Like Me" was, "what's with the lead? she's TERRIBLE!" :) Takes all sorts ...
