Yet more Heroes
Simon Brew
News from US TV-land has confirmed that we're getting more Heroes. Quite a lot more Heroes, actually. And more Office too!

One of the undoubted highlights of recent sci-fi TV has been the emergence of Heroes, of which you'll be reading a lot of on this site. And news has now come through that not only is it being renewed for another season (like, duh), and not only is it coming out on DVD and HD DVD in the summer, but there's a spin-off series coming too.
In 2008, NBC will debut a six episode series called Heroes: Origins, and each week will introduce a new character. Then an Internet vote - shudder - will decide which character will make the third series.
We're all for democracy and fan interaction, but an Internet vote, sadly, is rarely likely to make the right choice. I mean, look at what people have voted for in the past: George Bush, Michelle McManus, Joe Pasquale. Why can't the producers of the show trust themselves with the decision?
Heroes: Origins is likely to start its run after the second series of the main show has finished.
Also, the US version of The Office has been renewed for another 30 episodes. I am very, very happy....
