Martin Anderson, Editor

Den Of Geek

Who is Martin? And why is he starved?

As co-editor on Den Of Geek with Simon Brew, I write features and reviews and solicit review and interview material as well as doing interviews and looking for new writers to enrich the Geek Experience.

As a writer I've contributed to publications as diverse as The Times, The Stage, The Standard (London), the Fortean Times and various other unconnected organs.

I’ve been watching science-fiction TV and movies for long enough now that much of the dazzling and ‘impossible’ technology that amazed me as a youth is biodegrading in landfills as we speak.

I lived in Italy for some years, and it was no hardship because Italians love sci-fi; I’m only sorry that interesting work like Nirvana will remain relatively unknown outside of that country.

I’m starved of new subject matter on a yearly basis – sci-fi cinema costs money to make, whereas all you need for a horror movie is a big bottle of ketchup. :)

I love Philip K. Dick, Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, Charles Dickens and H.G. Wells, among many others. My favourite film remains My Fair Lady, even though I hate musicals.

My heroes are Peter Cushing, Tom Baker, and whoever invented pesto.
